RaccoonLab CAN-PWM NODE Converter

The basic tool to control PWM ESC and servo by Cyphal/CAN interface

  • RaccoonLab NODE is designed as an adapter for controlling servos and ESCs with a PWM interface.
  • It receives setpoint messages from the Cyphal/CAN bus (DroneCAN is supported as well for the benefit of legacy applications; however, it is not recommended for new designs) and maps them into typical servos and ESC controllers' PWM signals.
  • Node supports Cyphal interface (DroneCAN is supported as well for the benefit of legacy applications; however, it is not recommended for new designs).
  • Compatible with PX4 and Ardupilot-based autopilots.

μNODE vs MiniNODE v2

  • μNODE is the smallest among RaccoonLab PWM nodes. It is suitable for controlling 1 or 2 ESC or a servo with external power.
  • μNODE doesn't have its own DC-DC, so the entire load will go to the device that powers the μNODE. It is not recommended to power a servo with μNODE. If you need to power a servo, it is recommended to use a RaccoonLab MiniNODE (v1 or v2).
  • The MiniNODE board supports receiving feedback from the FLAME ESC.
  • MiniNode has two channels (A1 and A2) for direct actuators connection. Depending on the firmware it also has either two auxiliary channels named B1, B2; (experimental) or two auxiliary UART channels for getting feedback from FLAME ESC with RPM and voltage.
  • You could power a servo through the MiniNODE since it has a built-in DC-DC.
